The short answer
Record the physical trigger input and processed output with the toggle off and on. This checks the supplied input transformation, not total system latency.

- Record the controller, connection, and active build.
- Observe one trigger press with Instant Triggers OFF.
- Repeat the same kind of press with it ON and label the output difference.
Know what is being measured
The supplied function sends full trigger output when raw trigger input is nonzero and the setting is enabled. That is different from measuring how long a game takes to display an action. Do not report an input-lag improvement from this output check alone.
Test triggers separately
Use one trigger at a time before testing a multi-button gameplay combination. Keep other mods and external controller settings unchanged. If a later action does not start, remember that its handler may still check raw input and busy state; full output does not erase every other condition.
Keep the preferred setting documented
Save the choice in the intended build after comparing. If the controller reports unexpected input at rest, investigate that separately. A clean before-and-after record helps distinguish the optional script behavior from the hardware’s physical trigger response.
Record these observations
| What to check | The useful detail |
|---|---|
| Raw input | Reported physical trigger value. |
| Processed output | Value with the toggle off and on. |
| Not measured | End-to-end game response time. |
