The short answer
Test the D-pad with Dribble Mode OFF and then with a selected dribble mode. This checks intentional input handling, not whether the physical button is broken.

Rift — the #1 2K27 Cronus Zen script.
Rift lets you choose preset, custom, or normal-input behavior through its menu.

- Close the Rift menu and record the active build.
- Test one direction with Dribble Mode OFF.
- Enable the intended dribble mode and repeat the same physical press.
Keep menu navigation out of the trial
The D-pad has a separate job while the Rift menu is open. A gameplay input check must be done with that menu closed. Record whether the custom editor or main menu was still active if the direction changed a setting instead of reaching gameplay.
Know why input can be consumed
The supplied source suppresses D-pad output during active dribble handling so the same press does not also open game camera or zoom controls. An individual custom direction set to OFF does not necessarily disable the whole mode’s input handling. Use the mode’s OFF choice for the clean baseline.
Report the difference correctly
If normal input returns with Dribble Mode OFF, that points to mode behavior rather than a missing physical press. If the input never appears, inspect the controller connection. Keep both observations in the report instead of resetting the entire device without a diagnosis.

| What to check | The useful detail |
|---|---|
| Baseline | Menu closed, Dribble Mode OFF. |
| Comparison | Same direction with dribble mode active. |
| Result | Normal game input versus scripted handling. |

Common questions
Does an empty custom direction restore all normal behavior?
Do not assume that; test Dribble Mode OFF separately.
Is menu navigation a valid gameplay trial?
No. It uses a different input context.
